At Mass on Sunday 14th October we were joined by the children who completed their First Holy Communion programme in July and those who are to begin their journey this week.

Mrs Fraser, Head Teacher at St. Anne’s School came along to support the children and at the end of mass explained that the school, whilst having had fantastic Offsted reports, wanted to improve the links between the parish and the school. This will initially be achieved by creating the role of Faith Leaders for three children Abigail, Ethan and Jacob. The children have committed themselves to attend mass regularly and become involved in serving the parish community.

The children were presented with beautiful hoody sweaters with St Anne’s School Logo on the front and FAITH LEADER on the back.

The children all took part in the mass, Jacob sang the psalm, Ethan read the second reading and the girls took the offertory gifts to the altar. Then at the end of mass Abigail read a beautiful prayer of St Theresa of Avila which speaks of Jesus having no feet on earth but ours.

We look forward to seeing the children grow in love and service throughout the school year.
