First Holy Communion 2019

Roger EleyNews

Five children from St Anne’s School received Holy Communion for the first time at St Anne’s on Sunday 16th June.

Ava, Jacob, Lucas, Reilly and William were joined by family, friends and parishioners for a beautiful mass celebrated by Father Paul.

The children participated fully in their mass.

Reilly and William did the readings, Ava, Jacob and Lucas read the bidding prayers. All five were involved in the offertory procession and performed a liturgical dance at the end of mass as a thanksgiving.

The children were presented with missals form the school and beautiful prayer cards and certificates as a record of their special day.

Thanks go to everyone who helped in any way the day so special for the children. Mrs Ellis for the music, Jacob who sang the psalm so beautifully, the Ladies who cleaned the church, the flower arrangers and those who helped with tea and coffee after mass.

Particular thanks however must got to the catechists Christine Hodgkinson and Mary Stacey who, along with the school, throughout the year have prepared the children to be ready for their First Holy Communion.

Please keep the children and their families in you prayers.
