After mass on Sunday 12th June Daisy May Redshaw was baptised.

We welcome her into our parish and will remember her in our prayers.

We hope her parents Sean and Nicola along with their families and friends had a wonderful celebration.

On Sunday May 15th Pentecost marked the 40th Anniversary of the opening of St Anne’s church.

Fr Brendan treated the parishioners to a celebration cake which was enjoyed with a tea and coffee in the Hall after mass.

Further celebrations will be held after mass on June 26th.

If anyone has any photographs of the early years of St Anne’s we would love to display them at this celebration.

Congratulations to John and Leon Consterdine who celebrated their Diamond Wedding Anniversary this week.

The couple attended mass on 22nd May with their children, grand children, great grandchildren and members of their extended family and friends.

Father Brendan gave a special blessing during mass and presented a papal blessing to the couple at a celebration after mass in the Church Hall which was attended by many members of the parish.

John and Leon are founder members of the parish, Leon being a member of the choir and John is in the SVP.

John read a beautiful poem which celebrated their 60 years together.

Best wishes from everyone at St Anne’s and here’s hoping for many more years together

After mass on Sunday 15th May Jack William Johnson and Alexandra Clark were baptised.

We welcome them both into our parish and will remember them in our prayers.

We hope Jack’s parents Carl and Odette and Alexandra’s parents Terry and Claire, along with their families and friends had a wonderful celebration.

The annual accounts for the financial year April 2015 to March 2016 have been issued.

Congratulations to Emma Davidson, Neve McGill, Charli Roe, Georgia Strong, Skye Willoughby, Matthew Bailey, Jake Bell and Bobby Phillips who celebrated receiving Holy Communion for the first time at mass on Sunday. The children have all completed the diocesan preparation programme which began in September of last year through the school and with the help of catechists Christine Hodgkinson and Mary Stacey.

The five girls and three boys all from St Anne’s School participated in a beautiful liturgy prepared by the school staff and with the help of Mrs Ellis who worked alongside the school with the music.

The children were supported by their school friends, some of whom came along to swell the choir.  Their parents were all involved in bringing down the offertory gifts which included the plastercine moulds the children had made of themselves as part of the preparation programme.

The children did the readings and bidding prayers and performed a most moving liturgical dance after Holy Communion.

Father Kelly presented the children with a certificate and a beautiful missal as a commemorative gift from the school.

Afterwards the children and their families enjoyed a shared breakfast in the church hall.

It was a most memorable and moving mass with the church being full to overflowing which was wonderful to see. Please keep the children and their parents in your prayers.

We hope they will to grow in faith and love of the blessed Eucharist.

The baptism of Grace Doreen Bell will take place after mass on Sunday 1st May 2016.

We look forward to welcoming Grace Doreen into our parish and hope her parents and extended family have a great celebration.

We are pleased to welcome Jude Caspian Talai Irvine into our parish who was baptised on Sunday 24th April 2016.

We will remember Jude in our prayers and hope his parents Richard and Roya Talai and other members of his family had a very happy day.
